Hike % = (new salary − current salary) ÷ current salary × 100. New salary = current salary × (1 + hike % ÷ 100). For example, a 10% hike on ₹50,000 a month gives ₹55,000 a month — ₹5,000 more each month, or ₹60,000 more a year.

What is the Salary Hike Calculator?

What the tool does, who it is for and what it cannot tell you.

A salary hike calculator shows how much more you earn after a raise or a job change, both in rupees and as a percentage.

Choose whether you know the hike percentage or the new salary, and pick monthly or annual. Both salaries are read for the same period.

Salary Hike Calculator formula

The exact maths behind every number on this page.

Hike % = (New − Current) ÷ Current × 100; New = Current × (1 + Hike% ÷ 100)

Current
Your current salary (monthly or annual)
New
Your new salary, for the same period
Hike%
Percentage change from current to new

Annual = monthly × 12. Both salaries always use the same period, so the comparison is like-for-like.

Salary Hike Calculator calculation example

Hypothetical example: an annual salary of ₹8,00,000 with an offer of ₹9,20,000.

  1. 1Increase9,20,000 − 8,00,000 = ₹1,20,000 a year
  2. 2Hike %1,20,000 ÷ 8,00,000 × 100 = 15%
  3. 3Per month1,20,000 ÷ 12 = ₹10,000

The offer is a 15% hike — ₹10,000 more a month before tax.

Important assumptions

What this calculation includes, and what it leaves out.

  • Figures are gross. Tax, EPF and other deductions are not applied.
  • Annual equals 12 × monthly; bonuses and arrears are not included.

Financial tips

Practical guidance to act on your result.

  • Compare offers on the same basis — fixed pay against fixed pay, or CTC against CTC.
  • Variable pay and joining bonuses are not guaranteed every year; consider them separately.
  • A negative hike shows a pay cut.
