Estimated monthly in-hand salary

₹90,200

About 90.2% of your CTC reaches you as cash.

Estimated annual in-hand salary

₹10,82,400

Gross salary less all deductions entered.

Estimated gross salary

₹11,42,400

CTC minus the employer's PF contribution.

Total annual deductions

₹60,000

Employee PF, professional tax, income tax and other deductions.

Monthly basic salary

₹40,000

PF and gratuity are usually calculated on this figure.

Employer PF (annual)

₹57,600

Credited to your PF account, not to your bank account.

A CTC to in-hand salary calculator removes the employer's own costs — mainly employer PF — from your annual CTC to arrive at gross salary, then subtracts employee PF, professional tax, income tax and any other deductions to estimate monthly take-home pay. Your actual salary depends on your employer's salary structure and the tax rules that apply to you.

Smart Insights

Generated from the numbers you entered — no guesswork.

  • Of your ₹12,00,000 CTC, roughly ₹10,82,400 is estimated to reach you as cash over the year.
  • ₹1,15,200 a year goes into your PF account — money you keep, just not as monthly cash.
  • No income tax has been entered. Estimate it in the income tax calculator and enter the annual figure for a closer take-home number.
  • A higher basic salary raises PF and gratuity but reduces monthly cash — two structures with the same CTC can pay differently.

What is the CTC to In-Hand Salary Calculator?

What the tool does, who it is for and what it cannot tell you.

CTC is what your employment costs the company, not what you are paid. It bundles your salary with contributions and provisions that either go into a separate account, such as provident fund, or are only paid later. That is why an offer letter figure rarely matches the amount credited to your bank on payday.

This calculator makes the gap explicit. It removes the employer's PF contribution from CTC to give gross salary, then subtracts the deductions that reduce cash pay: your own PF, professional tax, income tax and anything else your payslip recovers.

It is a structure calculator, not a payroll system. Enter the components from your own salary breakup and it will show the arithmetic clearly; your employer's payslip is always the authoritative figure.

How does the CTC to In-Hand Salary Calculator work?

Each step the calculator runs, in plain language.

  1. 1

Split CTC into basic and the rest

The basic percentage you enter fixes annual basic salary, which is the base for both provident fund contributions.

  2. 2

    Remove the employer's own cost

Employer PF is deducted from CTC because it is credited to your PF account rather than paid as salary. What remains is estimated gross salary.

  3. 3

    Subtract salary deductions

Employee PF, professional tax, income tax and any other recoveries are taken off gross salary.

  4. 4

    Convert to a monthly figure

The annual result is divided by twelve. Real payslips vary month to month because TDS and variable pay are not spread evenly.

What to enter in each field

The exact figure each input expects, so the result means what you think it means.

Annual CTC
The single total in your offer letter or appraisal letter, before any deduction.
Basic salary percentage
Read it from your salary breakup if you have one. It matters because both PF contributions and gratuity are calculated on basic.
Employee and employer PF
Usually 12% of basic each. Some employers cap PF on a statutory wage limit instead, which lowers both figures.
Professional tax
A state levy. Enter the monthly amount shown on your payslip, or zero if your state does not levy it.
Estimated annual income tax
Calculate it in the income tax calculator under the regime you have chosen, then enter the annual figure here so monthly pay reflects TDS.

CTC to In-Hand Salary Calculator formula

The exact maths behind every number on this page.

Gross salary = CTC − employer PF; In-hand = Gross − employee PF − professional tax − income tax − other deductions

CTC
Total annual cost to company from your offer letter
Employer PF
Employer's PF contribution, typically 12% of basic
Employee PF
Your own PF contribution, typically 12% of basic
Professional tax
State levy on salaried income, where applicable

Employer PF is part of CTC but is credited to your PF account, so it is excluded from gross salary. Basic salary drives both PF figures.

CTC to In-Hand Salary Calculator calculation example

₹12,00,000 CTC with basic at 40%, PF at 12% each side and ₹200 professional tax.

  1. 1Annual basic40% of ₹12,00,000 = ₹4,80,000
  2. 2Employer PF12% of ₹4,80,000 = ₹57,600
  3. 3Gross salary₹12,00,000 − ₹57,600 = ₹11,42,400
  4. 4Employee PF + professional tax₹57,600 + ₹2,400 = ₹60,000

Before income tax, the estimated in-hand salary is about ₹10,82,400 a year, or roughly ₹90,200 a month.

Important assumptions

What this calculation includes, and what it leaves out.

  • Employer PF is treated as part of CTC and excluded from gross salary. If your offer states CTC excluding employer PF, reduce the employer PF percentage to zero.
  • PF is calculated on the basic salary percentage you enter, with no statutory wage ceiling applied. Employers who cap PF on a wage limit will show lower contributions.
  • Income tax is whatever annual figure you enter — the calculator does not compute tax, apply a regime, or model exemptions such as HRA or standard deduction.
  • Gratuity provision, bonus, variable pay, insurance premiums paid by the employer and reimbursements are not modelled separately; include them in CTC and in other deductions as your structure requires.
  • The annual estimate is divided evenly by twelve. Actual monthly credits vary with TDS timing, joining month and variable payouts.

Benefits

Why people use this calculator before signing a loan.

  • Compare two offers honestly

Two offers with the same CTC can differ in take-home pay because of how basic salary and benefits are structured.

  • See what PF is really doing

Both PF contributions are shown separately, so you can tell forced savings apart from actual tax.

  • Budget with a realistic number

Plan rent and EMIs against estimated monthly cash pay rather than the CTC headline.

Financial tips

Practical guidance to act on your result.

  • Ask for the detailed salary breakup, not just the CTC figure, before accepting an offer.
  • A lower basic percentage increases monthly cash but reduces PF savings and gratuity.
  • Estimate income tax separately and re-enter it here — it is usually the largest single deduction at higher salaries.
  • Check whether variable pay is inside the CTC figure; if it is, monthly cash will be lower than this estimate suggests.
