An SWP calculator estimates what happens to an investment corpus when you withdraw a fixed amount every month. It credits an assumed monthly return to the balance, subtracts the withdrawal, and repeats for the period you choose, so you can see total withdrawals, the estimated remaining corpus and whether the corpus runs out. Market returns vary, so the result is an estimate and not a guarantee.

Generated from the numbers you entered — no guesswork.
Each step the calculator runs, in plain language.
An SWP is set up on money already invested, typically in mutual funds. Units are redeemed each month to fund the withdrawal.
The annual return you enter is divided by 12 and applied to the balance each month, which is a transparent, constant-return model.
The withdrawal is deducted after growth. If the balance cannot cover it, only what remains is withdrawn and the corpus is exhausted.
The remaining corpus, the depletion year and the interest-only withdrawal figure together show whether the plan is sustainable.
The exact maths behind every number on this page.
Each month: balance = balance × (1 + r) − W (r = annual return ÷ 12 ÷ 100)
Growth is credited before the withdrawal is taken, and the withdrawal is capped at the balance available, so the corpus can be depleted but never turns negative.
A ₹50,00,000 corpus, 8% assumed annual return, ₹30,000 withdrawn monthly for 20 years.
Total withdrawals come to ₹72,00,000 and the corpus is still estimated to be positive at the end, because the monthly return (about ₹33,000 in month one) starts out larger than the withdrawal.
