title="BMI Calculator">
</iframe>BMI is a screening measure and does not by itself determine an individual's overall health. Results should not be treated as a medical diagnosis.
BMI (body mass index) is your weight in kilograms divided by your height in metres squared. This calculator converts centimetres, feet, inches, kilograms and pounds for you, shows the BMI value, its standard adult category and the healthy weight range for your height. BMI is a screening measure only — it is not a medical diagnosis.

What the tool does, who it is for and what it cannot tell you.
Body mass index (BMI) compares weight with height. BMI = weight in kilograms ÷ (height in metres × height in metres). If your height is in centimetres, divide it by 100 first. For example, 170 cm is 1.70 m.
For a person weighing 65 kg at 1.70 m, BMI = 65 ÷ (1.70 × 1.70) = 65 ÷ 2.89, or approximately 22.5. This falls in the standard adult healthy-weight band, labelled “Normal weight” in this calculator.
You can also enter height in feet and inches with weight in kilograms or pounds. The calculator converts those measurements before applying the same metric formula, so you do not need to convert them yourself.
Each step the calculator runs, in plain language.
Select the Units option that matches your measurements: centimetres and kilograms, feet/inches and kilograms, feet/inches and pounds, or centimetres and pounds.
Enter weight in the selected unit. For centimetres, use Height (cm); for feet and inches, enter the two parts separately, such as 5 feet and 7 inches. The height fields for the other system are ignored. The result updates as you change your measurements.
Underweight: below 18.5. Healthy weight (labelled “Normal weight” in the result): 18.5 to below 25. Overweight: 25 to below 30. Obesity: 30 or above. These adult categories are not intended for children or teenagers.
Your BMI places your weight relative to your height in a screening band; it is not a diagnosis. BMI does not directly measure body fat or distinguish fat from muscle. The displayed weight range is a formula-based reference, not a personal target. If you have health concerns, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
The exact figure each input expects, so the result means what you think it means.
The exact maths behind every number on this page.
BMI = Weight (kg) ÷ [Height (m)]²
For pounds and inches, BMI is approximately 703 × weight (lb) ÷ [height (in)]². The 703 factor is rounded; this calculator converts pounds and inches to kilograms and metres using the conversions above, then applies the metric formula.
Hypothetical example: an adult who is 170 cm (1.70 m) tall and weighs 65 kg.
The BMI is about 22.5, which sits in the normal-weight band of the standard adult ranges.
